Certification is granted in accordance to the performance requirements met by each individual.

BreathABLE Diving uses the Dive Buddy (DB) system, which focuses on the safety and enjoyment of diving with another qualified diver. Outlined below are the 3 stages of the Dive Buddy system:

DB1: All performance requirements have been met, the diver has demonstrated the ability to perform self-rescue and can provide equal assistance to his/her buddy should it become necessary. This diver can dive with any other certified diver.

DB2: All performance requirements have been met, the diver has demonstrated the ability to perform self-rescue but is not able to provide assistance to his/her buddy should it become necessary. This diver must dive with two (2) adult certified divers, one of which must be qualified "Scubility" dive buddy.

DB3: This physical performance requirements have been met and the diver has demonstrated the ability to safely use scuba in an open water environment. But the diver des not have the ability to perform self-rescue or provide assistance to his/her dive dive buddy should it become necessary. This diver must dive with three (3) adult certified divers, at least one of which must be a qualified "Scubility" dive buddy.

Discover Scuba Diving

DSD allows you to test out very basic diving skills in a controlled environment. This course does not provide a diving certification, however, it can be used as a credit to continue with the Open Water Scuba Diver Certification

  • You must submit medical approval for diving

Scuba Diver

Scuba Diver is the entry level to the Open Water Scuba DIver course and provides the knowledge and skills to safely dive in an open-water environment. Upon completion of this course, divers MUST dive with a professional; Dive Master, Assistant Instructor or Instructor.

Open Water Scuba Diver

The Open Water Scuba Diver course provides the knowledge and skills required to safely dive in the open water environment. The course is performance based. This means that you must show competence in both academic and water-skills requirements before coming certified. Upon completion of the course you receive the Open Water Diver certification based upon your level of self-dependence and your ability to assist your fellow divers.

Advanced Open Water

During the Advanced Open Water Diver Course is an Open Water DIver will learn more diving skills. The course focuses on open water dives and only short sessions of academics.
A minimum of 5 dives is required before certification. There are no compulsory dives. Together with your Instructor you an make your own program.

  • Be certified as Open Water Diver
  • You must submit a medical approval for diving
